structures

Richard has developed a number of light-weight structures in materials such as pine and bamboo. These are all based on Platonic and Archimedean solids, and are influenced by the ‘tensegrity’ structures of Kenneth Snelson and the geodesic structures of Buckminster-Fuller. These temporary structures have been exhibited at various events associated with Area 10, The Garden of Earthly Delights and the Appledore visual arts festival. For the recent Arab World Arts Day, Richard built a temporary geodesic structure in the courtyard of the Victoria and Albert museum. This was decorated with childrens’ designs inspired by works in the Jameel Gallery as part of a one day workshop.paintings%20%26%20mixed%20media.htmlgraphical%20work.htmltile%20mosaic%20%26%20ceramics.htmlshapeimage_1_link_0shapeimage_1_link_1shapeimage_1_link_2
